But all this, "you're both right, be grown up and agree to differ" has
got to stop.
Is there a single answer to any question, Tony? Can any answer be
free of a context and therefore absolute in all situation? How often
do we say: "There s no single 'best' way to play <whatever>, nor is
there a single 'best' clarinet"?
Extreme example: The answer to "Which food is the best-tasting?"
will _necessarily_ be different depending on whether you're a panther or
a giraffe.
Truly, I've lost track of what topic or statement began this verbal
combat; but whatever it was, why can't both answers each contain a
different truth and yet both of them answer the original question in a
valid way (whatever the question was)?
It wasn't by random that I compared flame wars to terrorism. Not
only are both strategies 'attacks' when no other strategy has the
desired effect, but both of them are also based on narrow-minded
overly-focused 'Absolute Truths'.
IMO, a person is not being a 'wuss' when he allows for more than
one answer to a question.
Regards,
Bill
[what do you know about that? My spelling checker accepts "wuss" as a
real word]
