I have read thru` these articles on the care of clarinet wood, and I too
recommend all listers to read it.
There are indeed specific ways to oil a bore, with a special rod and cotton,
not forgetting also to wipe away excessive deposits left behind the
following day. It recommends oiling far more frequently that what I advised.
It also states reasons and cures for the loose middle tenon discussion
currently running.
It`s quite a long read, but you will no doubt feel afterwards, that you will
need to take more daily care of your instruments.
I think I finally realise now what my old LL Leblancs are indeed suffering
from, and it is, I`m sure, the 'blown out' syndrome talked about in this
piece.
BEWARE! :<)
Best,
Tony W.
