I don't think it is carpal tunnel syndrome, but it may be something very
similar. It IS probably a pinched nerve near your thumb. I am no doctor,
but I have had carpal tunnel problems for years and have had surgery twice
to relieve numbness. My recommendation is to see a hand specialist who has
experience treating musicians. Your area's medical society can help you
find someone. Hope this helps.
