I have been playing the clarinet for fifteen years and the other day, all of a sudden, my right thumb (on the side that supports the weight of the instrument) went numb. It has been two days now and my thumb has never completed recovered. It will regain the feeling at times and at times it will be numb. This has never happened to me before, and I haven't done anything different with my playing, so does anyone have any ideas? This is not an early sign of Carpal Tunnel is it?
