With the Scarponi Quintet ((Ciro), Patrizio, Giacomo and Ivo
Scarpino with Luca Moretti), he has recorded the Quintets by
Robert Fuchs and Egon Kornauth. [Nova Era 7252]
This was a good idea. More like this please. Those who wish
to hear more Kornauth, (German-speaking Vienna-based Czech,
who has a attractive style, will have to play it themselves
e.g. two Clarinet Sonatas Op. 3 and 5 and a nonet
called Kammermusik for strings and wind without bassoon).
Has Ciro Scarponi recorded or played the Mozart Concerto
as per Ray Jackendoff then?

I have a question about the score fragments.

are written one octave too low. That is, whereas notes in the
treble clef are written a minor second higher than they sound, as usual, the
notes in the bass clef are written a minor sixth
LOWER than they sound.

justification is to avoid having the eye suddenly veer from the very bottom
of the staff to the very top of the staff, but as a piano player, it
startled me. It also has the unfortunate side effect of turning lines into
spaces and vice versa.
