As I and others have said a gazillion times - make sure you install, keep
running, _and keep updated_ an anti-virus program of your choice,
especially if you are running a Windows OS.

I have just updated my Detroit computer to Norton 2001, which also checks
all my _outgoing_ as well as incoming mail, just in case one slips by on the
way in. That will help keep things from spreading.

The data on my computers is worth a lot more than the price of the
anti-virus software!
