I was able to take my clarinet as carry-on luggage aboard a United flight from
Denver today. (I removed my jeweler's screwdriver and a small razor knife
from the clarinet case and put them in my checked luggage). Knives, nail
files and nail clippers were not permitted, and many passengers just discarded
them into a plastic bin at the first security desk. Frank
