Kids of that age like to hear familiar music, which will mean TV themes,
and, at least for the older ones in the group, movie themes. Not that you
rely on these exclusively, but I would mix them with whatever "classical"
examples you choose. One that we use to demonstrate the clarinet in the
program we play each year to recruit beginners is The Entertainer (which
almost none of them knows by title but nearly all of them recognize from the
opening measure once I start playing it). Tunes from Disney movies as
relatively old as "The Little Mermaid" and "Aladdin" are instantly
recognized (I guess their parents are still playing hte videos at home for
them).
