Last night I attended the penultimate prom of the season - the Verdi Requiem
with the RPO. The soloists were Fiorenza Cedolins (who IMO was absolutely
outstanding), Carolyn Sebron, Vincenzo La Scola,and Roberto Scandiuzzi.
Daniele Gatti made a brief speech at the beginning dedicating the
performance to the victims of Tuesday's assult on democracy. A more fitting
tribute I could not imagine. It was an unbelievably intense performance.

The organisers of the Proms agreed with some of your suggestions, as they
changed the Last Night program to include among others the Barber Adagio for
strings, and the last movement of the Beethoven 9. They ended, as always,
with 'Jerusalem'. The rest of the Program can be seen at
