I'm a musician and most of my friends are musicians too but we are human
being at first. When I meet some of my friends I try to speak of everything
except the clarinet (even if they are clarinet players) and this help me to
know more about that person.

I consider this list as a community of people who share with me the fact
that they play the clarinet; but I consider you on the list as "human being"
not only as "clarinet player".

I receive many mails from different lists and steadily there someone who
point out the "off-topic" problem and it astonish me. I mean... during a
rehearsal with my orchestra I'd like to speak with people around me (I
know... I shouldn't :) whenever there are few seconds of pause and reeds or
mouthpieces or instruments are not the main argument of our chat.

I try to read every mail posted on this list and I try not to interfere
because of the fact that I cannot express myself in english as I would (and
it is a bit frustrating) and most of the mails I've never deleted are the
"off-topic" ones.
When I need something on a particular argument related to clarinet I simply
search in the klarinet-archive and I usually find everything I need, without
posting anything more.
But in the klarinet-archive I'll never find something about this tragedy;
that's why I've posted my previous mail.

This is my point of view on this problem; this mail is not strictly related
to Kelly's posting; I've just taken the same subject.
