In comparison to V12, I also notice that Zondas don't have the same amount
of "backbone" or "strength". But V12 (Walter mentioned Vandoren) has extra
thickness by design, and therefore it's not a fair comparison.

Patricia:

I have noticed this in comparison not only to Oliveiris (which are cut
similar to V12's) but also to regular cut Vandorens, Mitchell Lurie
Premiums, and Queen reeds, which are all cut the same way regular Vandorens
are cut.

....and (tongue in cheek) perhaps the fact that Zonda does not use
pesticides causes their reeds to be a bit more delicate..... there's
nothing like a shot of 20% pyrethin in the morning to give a reed some
backbone.

Patricia:

I always just drank lots of coffee before warming up. Wonder if that simply
killed the bad taste of the pesticides?
Not to mention, maybe the coffee made MY Zondas last longer ;-)
