Our University (Christian/Baptist) had an open forum discussion this =
morning led by our political science faculty, an Christian Ethicist, a =
Christian Theologian and the head of our International studies program. =
Here is the summary.

1. The WTC held major offices for about 300 American and International =
businesses, which represented 29 different countries. The financial/busine=
ss damage is worldwide. The attack though aimed at America actually =
damaged the world's economy. Thus the strong international support of =
actions against terrorism.

2. Apparently the moderates of the Muslim world are shocked by this =
outrage and are expressing their support and condolences. This from =
e-mails from academics in the Middle East.

3. Major International powers have realized that this type of attack =
could have happened at any city in the world. No one is immune from the =
fanatical hatred. =20

4. More attacks in America or at other major international cites are =
quite possible. =20

5. At Pearl Harbor, a distinct nation attacked another. In this terror, =
a vague interrelated group from possibly all over the world worked =
together to kill us. Who do we fight?

6. We are in for some rough times ahead in many respects.

7. They closed by asking us to love one another, especially our middle =
eastern and Muslim friends. This is a horrible time for those honest =
Americans here in America. =20

An odd side light. I have a new freshman (non major) playing in Jazz band =
who is a "Missionary Kid" from Tanzania and schooled in Nairobi Kenya all =
her life. She was in Nairobi when our embassy was bombed a couple years =
ago and saw great acts of human goodness and love come out of that =
tragedy. How we react 'after' is maybe more important than the actual =
terror.

Time to practice...it has been to many days now...
