In a message dated 01-09-13 16:15:44 EDT, Daniel.Paprocki@-----.edu asks:

<< What music did everyone find comforting after this tragic event? >>

Frank Ticeli's "American Elegy" -- composed for the anniversary of the
Columbine High School tragedy. This year we had the privilege of having
Frank guest conduct the Cal State Los Angeles Wind Ensemble in a performance
of the work. After listening to Frank explain the relationship of the music
to the tragic event -- and the hope that grew out of it -- it was virtually
impossible for us to play (at least the first time). It's hard to play when
you're crying.
