On a related note, the "Last Night of the Proms" (Albert Hall, London)
programme on Saturday will deviate (for the first time in my memory) from
the some of the traditional repertoire. Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance #1
(Land of Hope and Glory) is pulled, some others may be too, to make way for
the finale of Beethoven 9 and the Barber Adagio in a musical tribute to
those affected by the terrorists' destruction. The Barber is such a powerful
piece.

Just to get on another subject.

What music did everyone find comforting after this tragic event? I've been
listening to Mahler 3. It has it's dark moments but there is a glimmer of
light.
