Subj: [kl] Stolen clarinet
Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2001 02:23:11 -0400

Stolen out of daughter's home in south central Massachusetts...
One piece Buffet Bb clarinet. Additional low register key for Eb. This
instrument was made in the 1920s and is not in tune with current standards.
Also, the wood has warped and changed over the decades. It takes a musician
with the chops to overblow and underblow to play this instrument in tune.
It is in a long case made for a pair of one piece instruments. The case is
in shopworn condition and the green fabric covering the instrument clips is
well worn. This instrument has sentimental value for my family. It was my
father's, then mine and my brother's, and recently, my daughter's. There is
a reward for information leading to recovery. A local police report has
been made.
This description is deliberately vague. There is a Buffet serial number,
and we have other ways of identifying this instrument.
Our family's thanks and appreciation for any help which can come our way.
