Agree or not with a person's beliefs I believe in looking at their motives before I make the decision to be offended. I see the point you are making but what I'm simply stating is that instead of arguing over someone offering their sympathy in what is perhaps the only way they know how in such a time as this shouldn't we simply accept the sympathy in the spirit in which it is offered?
To answer your question if a "devil worshipper" as you put it were to invoke the good wishes of the anti-christ on me I would not be offended if they were sincere. Whether I feel the invoked deity will do anything or not is moot. The heart is the central point of the matter
