Subj: [kl] alternative Baermann editions

I partially recall reading a recent post regarding a special edition of the
Baermann Part III which presents the Baermann material in a different
organization than the original. I believe the editor was German (?). You
may be interested to know there is also an edition by Jack Snavely,
published by Kendor Music, in which Snavely does two things:

1. He reorganizes the Baermann material such that all the exercises for
each key are presented together (i.e., all the C major studies appear first,
then the A minor studies, etc.).

2. He includes additional exercises, perhaps of his own invention, with
each set of studies.

For those of you who are looking for an alternative to the original Baermann
presentation, the Snavely edition may be of interest.

For myself, years ago I simply added tabs to each page of the original
Baermann, indicating where each of the different studies begin. When I wish
to practice the studies "by key," I simply use the tabs to quickly flip from
one section to the next.
