Bill, we've been talking about music originally published (at least in the
US) prior to 1923, which places it in the PD. The addition of spurious notes
is moot, since one cannot claim copyright on a mere edition of PD music. If
your maps were published prior to 1923, any additions or omissions on the
map are moot at that point, too.

If we both publish editions of K622, there is no copyright on the _music_.
Period. Even if we spend most of our lives changing one or two notes due to
research into historical accuracy. The courts in the US call that "sweat of
the brow" and explicitly _disallow_ copyright in that case.

Believe it or not.

Mark C.
