One of my part-time jobs in summer camp was erasing
all the markings. I think it still looked pretty
sloppy. The photo-copying of any thing you really need
to mark up is a good idea. [Didn't pay too well,
anyway.]
When I played bassoon, I learned to read tenor clef.
That is until I hit what was a beautiful cadenza solo
in a wind ensemble piece. My mind froze - I forgot
tenor clef, I forgot the memorized, very short solo.
All of a sudden, I learned to improvise. The band
director, whith a look of amazement in his eyes,
carefully watched me and cued the rest of the group in
at just the right spot.
