P.S. To Dave Naden.
Although I have never met Abe Galper in person, I met him on the
Klarinet List, and his brilliance has had a profound effect on all of my
young students, who now study from the Galper Clarinet Method. Now Abe
has had a terrific influence on me. He just sent me a package with his
"Upbeat Baermann" and his "Scales and Arpeggios". This has meant a lot
to me. Many of you may know that I am basically a lazy slug, but Abe's
books are so beautifully written and succinct, that they are making it a
lot easier for me to practice. The "Upbeat Baermann" has everything that
I need to keep up my technique, and I think it's a lot better for me
than the original Baermann Book. His "Scales & Arpeggios" are what I
have been looking for to teach my students their scales. I am now
planning a trip to Canada so that I can meet Abe in person and learn
from him. This is because I met him on Sneezy. It is so hot here that I
may go on this trip sooner than I had thought, maybe go see Audrey too.
The point that I am making is that people can have a profound
effect on one another over the internet. For me it has been more
profound than Harold Hill. ANNIE
