Subj: [kl] improvisation & ornamentation

Ann,

Actually, I liked Dan's distinction, but I supposes that I would say that
my improvisations consisted mostly of ornamentation. There were a few
exeptions, like the repeat of the first variation of the last movement
(much thanks to Charlie Neidich's recording for inspiration) which was more
a variation on the variation. In one spot, I took out Mozart's
ornamentation for the first section, and replaced it for the repeat.

Anyway, ornamentation/improvisation is a wonderful tool of expression in
music prior to 1850 (depending on country of origin), and a lot of fun too!
