Dear Marina,

I do believe Sean was just trying to be humorous and I don't think he was
trying to insult you or say anything bad about Noblet clarinets. The "dating"
an instrument joke is old and not particularly original. I've seen it on other
instrument news groups. Some of the responses have indeed been very funny.

I realize you are very earnest about wishing to make an upgrade. I wish you
well in that department, but I would say, please lighten up and take it all
with a smile. There is, indeed room for such humor or attempted humor here. Not
everything has to be serious.
