The young man or woman from Nacagdoches asked a very straightforward
question about why the clarinet had so many varieties and kinds. And
from that question we have wandered through three centuries of clarinet
and horn history, most of it enlightening, some of it new, some of it
old, some of it strange, some of it fascinating, and some of it
head-scratching. People from three or four continents have commented.
People from multiple cultures, counties, states, countries, and
geographic areas have contributed. Oehler system players, Boehm system
players, original instrument players, professionals, amateurs, teachers,
students, and goodness knows what else.

"Ask a simple question and generate an earthquake" should be the motto
of this list.
