I've gone off the deep end in my pursuit of authentic klezmer performing
practices. I've acquired a Low Pitch Buffet Albert system clarinet, circa
1890. It's not really playable yet, but the wood and the keys are in great
shape. I'll have my buddy Steve Fowler do the restoration. He really knows
his way around antique woodwind instruments.

So has any body had any experiences switching over to the Albert system? Does
anybody have a low pitch Albert C that they might be willing to part with?
What was the difference between High pitch and low pitch back then? How close
is this to the German system that is in use today?

The next part of my project is doing some acoustic (in the big horn)
recording of some of the old klezmer tunes while also recording digitally.
"Original instruments on original microphones"

Thanks
