At the end point you may have only your horns, the only representatives
of who you are or were, to tell you that once, you were OK and made a
significant contribution to the well being of others through your music
and affected the course of their lives, even if only for a moment and
that the world is a better place because of what you did. Then, the
memory of the clarinets will fade and so will their importance to you.
Then you will have nothing but it will not matter. Make the most of
what you have, NOW.

Your HS music teacher and you: As a student you are like a small
kettle, able to hold only a little of what the big kettle (your teacher)
sends your way. But the big kettle dispenses only what it contains and
does so to many little kettles. The big kettle does not always have
exactly what all the little kettles want or need but he will have some
for each and what he gives, hopefully, is a seed for the future. Then
one day the little kettle becomes a medium sized kettle and discovers
that there are even bigger kettles than the one he used to know and
begin to find fault with the contents of the previous big kettle. How
is it medium kettle is not able to see importance what little good there
was in what big kettle used to give him, for it is what big kettle used
to give him that allows him to now recognize there are even bigger
kettles out there. Once little kettle has completed his journey of
musical maturation he will then be the biggest pot on the block.

Your past is what has prepared you for your future. It was the stepping
stone to the rest of your life. If you want the rest of your life to be
the fulfillment of your goals don't waste time blaming those in your
past. Take the tools you have now let them help you go for the gold. If
you to want get better or be the best, DO IT. All the kettles around
you have only a small portion of what you need, the rest you must get
for your self because there is not enough time in your life to visit all
the big kettles in the world to get a hand out. You must now begin to
come up with your recipes to fill your own kettle.

Good Luck, go for it
