Anne Lenoir asked me if I know about the above, of
course! is my reply. Grew up on them (and lessons with
Abe) and I still use these with all my beginning
students. The "Take Up Clarinet" seems to me as more
of a supplement to a main method book as it's entirely
repertoire without text or studies about how to
actually play the instrument. Actually I think Abe's
method now comes with chord symbols too, so improv is
gaining on us! And a good thing I'm thinking...
