Nohe,

Generally, I hate to post "me too!"s but this is one exception I must go
with. I've just entered college, and I'm probably going to be an Ed major. I
do NOT want to play trombone, yet it is my primary instrument. I'm quite
wobbly on clarinet, but it's what I love. I've found, though I have to play
trombone to a fair degree while I'm here, most of the faculty is far more
concerned with me getting back into practice on clarinet and going from
there. The problem was that my HS band director was a real jerk and wouldn't
let me switch sophomore year, so I played trombone in high school against my
will, and of course, I got better on it, against my will, and though I
practiced clarinet every day, and even took lessons, I'm afraid that's no
match for a willing a faculty and an ensemble. So, I'm horribly defecient in
my chosen instrument. College, as opposed to High School, seems far more
"just floooow with it."
