Dear Walter, Dear Roger, Dear Virginia, Dear all

There is a discussion going on on the "klarinet" list, that saddens me
tremendously. What I enjoyed so much on "Klarinet" was the freedom of
speech. Everyone could pose questions, give opinions, and pose theorems.
These were agreed with and confirmed, or not agreed with, and the opinions -
not the persons - were attacked, as in a good discussion always is the case.

Never I found a message posted to this list offending. Of course I don't
read everything published on this BB, so sometimes I fall into a discussion
I missed the first or mid part of, but still I never found reasons to be
upset. I know, that some people have felt very offended by the behaviour of
some on this list, but on rereading the discussion often I thought "long
toes", a Dutch expression for being offended easily.

Two years ago I rejoined the "klarinet"list. In these two years I read many
mails sent by Walter Grabner and Roger Garrett. The unpleasant discussion at
this moment is, I think (I missed the beginning) between Roger and Walter.
Both of them I esteem highly. Both of them I never found to be hateful or
negative about someone's else's opinion.

Both are very knowledgeable about what they are saying, as many on this list
are. No one ever gave a more or less dirty attack to someone on this list
possibly known to be an amateur. In my esteem this list rans very high on
several aspects. To MarK C. I would take off my hat from 1607 or somewhere
around that period in the Netherlands and make a deep bow to my brother and
hos friend). So why don't you at leastlitteral;ly shake hands, adopt your
personal and privatye programs?

Rien
