No - I didn't Walter. That you read it that way is your own thinking. I
disagreed with your premise that mouthpieces make reeds last longer.

>In fact, this is libel. How could I not take it personally?

Actually, any attorney will tell you that it is not libel to not mention
someone's name, not refer to their writing, yet present an opinion. They
may tell you however, that it is libel to say things directly about another
person that includes their name, references their writing, and then make
statements about that person that could be considered untrue. This is
especially true when posting to an international list.

On the other hand, an attorney would also tell you that you would have to
prove damages to sue someone for defamation, etc. It depends on if your
post about them could be tied to a loss of business.........or income.

You needed to take a bit more time on that Walter. In my opinion, and of
course you may disagree, you jumped the step of asking if I was referring
to you.

>I really do regret the unpleasantness.

Is that why you wrote me to tell me to keep my comments to myself??????

>Let's get past this and on to happier topics.

Sure - let's. In the meantime, let's also stick to what we say we will do
- which is a) not read the posts; or b) stop sending personal notes with
nasty things attached. That would be a happy beginning to following your
own suggestion.

"If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me,
this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very
best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until
the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me won't
amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, 10 angels swearing I
was right would make no difference."
