I did not include you in any recent post Walter - so I am not sure which
post you feel I am disputing.

For the rest of the list - because I guess Walter will not read this
(hmmmm............) I would only say that Walter has overreacted to my post
that disputes any, all, or only a few opinions he may have
presented. Since I believe in what I am saying as much as I am sure Walter
believes in what he says, and because I did not refer to him in my posts, I
feel safe in assuring all of you that any disagreement I may have with
Walter's opinion is not because I dislike him (I did have a nice lunch
with him once - and he purchased a mouthpiece as well as took up two hours
of time while I showed him what I do with mouthpieces - and he wrote such
to the list), it is not because I do not respect his abilities, and I don't
have an opinion about his personality (although he clearly has harbored one
against me for some time). Rather - I believe in presenting information
that represents my version of what I believe to be true. I'm sorry if it
seems diametrically opposed to Walter - if it is - but it is only meant to
present my opinions. Period. Nothing more nothing less.

>I took great offense at Mr. Garrett's comment.

I believe Walter should not have taken offense - for no offense was intended.

>I do not need to, nor intend to make misleading statements to this list. I
>stand by what I said, earlier.

I'm not sure if Walter is saying that I was accusing him of such - but I
was not. I believe Walter truly believes what he has said to the list. I
believe he wants to sell his products - and I believe he believes in his
product. I also know that many people are very happy with his products. I
am certain he is excellent - as I have heard Walter play, and I am aware of
his intense desire to be successful in mouthpiece making. But - as Jim
Pyne once said, the list is not designed to be an advertisement. It is my
opinion that many of Walter's posts appear to be advertising. I guess I
don't care one way or another - but it seems that perhaps there might be
better ways to do it - especially knowing all the wonderful mouthpiece
makers who are out there who are on the list and present information
without providing an ad about the most recent success they have had
refacing such and such a mouthpiece but, instead, have furthered the
understanding of mouthpieces for people in many other ways - such as
providing a superb product.

Ok.

>Mr. Garrett, I will defend to the death your right to free speech.

Ok.

"If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me,
this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very
best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until
the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me won't
amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, 10 angels swearing I
was right would make no difference."
