Subj: [kl] Clarinet parts in piano concerti
Date: Sat, 25 Aug 2001 09:50:53 -0400

I have a question for the group:

I've just been asked to play first clarinet for the Tchaikovsky piano
concerto and also the Beethoven 3rd piano concerto. I will not have access
to the parts before the first rehearsal and wanted to check whether there
was any reason to think that the Beethoven might call for C clarinet. I can
borrow one if i need to, and although i could transpose it, i'd prefer not
to do so sight reading for a rehearsal if i don't have to. I've done it
before, and it's not a pretty sight.

Thanks!

Brent Eresman
