You're all taking me on a wonderful nostalgia trip.

One of the major highlights of my musical career was playing the clarinet book
for Fiddler in high school, now a quarter of a century ago. The drama
department at David Douglas High School was award-winning, so it was a nearly
professional production. The band's normal principal clarinet player wanted to
be in the company so he could do the bottle dance, leaving me to take over as
lead clarinet. We had no English horn, so I got to do those parts as well.

The wedding scene still makes me tingle. The way the emotion ebbs and flows
and builds to an explosive climax is just magical.
