I have a Wiseman case for my bassoon, and have used it exclusively and
extensively for over seven years. No Velcro fastener has ever come
unfastened or broken. Howard Wiseman himself is a bassoonist, and he
started out making bassoon cases. They have now been in use for at least 10
years, and of the dozens of bassoonists I know who use them, I don't believe
I have ever heard of anyone having trouble with the Velcro or anything else
about them.

If you plan to put your instrument in the case and then jump up and down on
it, then I wouldn't recommend the Wiseman case. Nor would I suggest
strapping it to your back and then driving your motorcycle. However, for
professionals and others who know how to take care of an instrument, I think
they are a great choice.
