Garry Evans, a doctoral student from UNT (Univ. of North Texas)
took second place. Brian Vilunius (sp?), a freshman (!) at North-
western, took third (student of Dagon, and he had all the ingredi-
ents; all that's left is repertoire and experience). The Hungarian
who took fourth was also very good. I found the young artists' com-
petition particularly inspiring, especially in terms of the future
of clarinetistry that these players represented.
