Robert-

I have used the Optimum on and off. I like the articulation as Jeff
commented on, and I have never really settled on which plate I prefer, but I
do like the effect it has especially with my Kaspar mpc. The only problem I
have had is when playing both Bb and A clarinet. It tends, for me, to have
the same problem many one-screw ligatures do, that of slipping easily when
you switch your setup from one clarinet to the other. It's inconvenient
having to readjust your reed and ligature because of it. I think there was a
brief discussion here on this subject just recently) The BG ligature is the
lone one-screw ligature I have had success with in this situation.
