How open a mouthpiece is does not relate in any meaningful way to how easy
it is to play. In fact, a smaller tip opening may well be easier. It
depends upon YOUR embouchure and how well matched the reed is to the
mouthpiece. I personally find that all Vandoren mouthpieces tend to play
flat for me in the altissimo register, and the B-46 is the worst of them in
that regard, although it has a HUGE chalumeau sound.
