The tip (1/100mm) opening of the B45 is 119.5 and the B46 is 117+. A larger
tip opening generally requires a softer reed, and conversely a closer tip
opening will permit a stronger reed. In the Vandoren catalog (available on
the D'Addario web site www.daddario.com each mouthpiece is described in
detail, with the recommended strength reeds (traditional as well as
V12).BTW- The Vandoren B45Lyre has a tip opening of 127.
