I just came back from playing the last concert of the summer season with
the Saginaw Eddy Concert Band. In addition to playing the normal sorts of
things, like Morton Gould's "American Salute," Saint-Saens' "Bacchanale
from Samson and Delilah," Clifton Williams' "Symphonic Dance No. 3,"
marches, show tunes and such, we had as guest artists the Boston Brass, and
accompanied them on several selections, including "Tangents" by John
Wasson, a recent composition written for them. Even though there was not a
reed player among them, I highly recommend the group as fine musicians and
excellent entertainers, somewhat on the order of the Canadian Brass, but
better jazz players.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
