I recently ordered 3 copies of the Galper Clarinet Method, Book 1, for
my students, and in my opinion, it is the greatest! The Rubank, Breeze
Easy, A Tune a Day, and Hendrickson are not even close to being in the
same ball park.
Abe has taken some passages from the Klose book and turned them
into gorgeous little melodies for children and adults to learn. He also
has little excerpts from the orchestral repertiore that sound terrific,
all with phrasing markings and breath marks. My kids love his book and
have been fighting over the 3 copies, so I had to use up all my spare
change to make photo copies to tide them over till the next batch
arrives from LUYBEN. So I got a parking ticket since I spent all my
spare change on copies. And it's all Abe's fault. The music store can't
carry his method because they can't order from LUYBEN. They have to
order from the publisher and they don't have a phone number. So I guess
I have to buy 20 copies of his book from LUYBEN. Abe, that's not fair!
