Subj: [kl] A "Tip" concerning Karaoke Klarinet

I had to play for a girlfriends wedding ceremony and reception on
Saturday. Denise used to be our bartender when we worked at the biker
bar a few years ago. The ceremony was outside with no electricity, and
she insisted on having the traditional processional and recessional by
Mendelsohn (please excuse my spelling if it's wrong). I tried to teach
it to my husband Don on the guitar, and it sounded terrible. So I loaded
up the boombox with batteries and bought a CD "100 all time favorites
for special occasions". The 2 Bridal Chorus's were the first 2 numbers
on the CD, which was recorded by some crummy orchestra, but they sounded
much better than Don. I got there early and said, "Hi everybody. My name
is Annie Lenoir and I am your Karaoke Klarinetist, here to entertain you
until Denise (the bride) comes down the elevator and down the aisle."
Then I played clarinet along with some of my better arrangements that I
had transferred to CD. Then Denise waved to me from the elevator and I
started the Bridal Chorus from the "100 all-time favorites". It worked
beautifully.
We played for the reception on the patio of the "Squatting Chicken
Bar", and they all wanted to hear Jethro Tull, and the wind kept blowing
away my flute air. Somehow we made it. We were supposed to make $300 for
our efforts, but the check was for $400. I asked Denise what happened?
She said, "I left you a tip for your Karaoke Klarinet during the
ceremony." I'm glad I remembered my Legere reed, as it was hot out on
the patio. It was a very "sharp" performance. ANNIE
