In your article on OCR, Ann, you ended with this quote:

Havas says, "it is either easy or impossible", and, "we need more
comfortable violinists [musicians], not more brave violinists [musicians]."
Similar idea (quoted in the book The Orchestra) "only the amateur attempts
the impossible." These New Approach techniques make more music easy and
enjoyable.

I have to agree with this sentiment, in more ways than one. I always felt
intimidated, and tense most of my musical life by screaming conductors and
other people who behaved like raving lunatics. How on earth can anyone
relax and truly play their instrument in such an atmosphere? No wonder
people decide to be amateurs, become music teachers, do something within
music that they themselves direct, or quit music altogether to pursue
another career.

I hope Ann's techniques help a lot of people. I intend to book mark the page
for my own use. However, I also feel that, until musicians decide that they
will no longer put up with crazy people for leaders, we will continue to
have incredible tension in our midst and music will continue not to be very
enjoyable.
