German versus French

The recent appeal by the Berlin players to prevent a person who plays a
French system clarinet from entering the teaching realm in Germany is
amusing.
They go to lengths to show the history of the clarinet starting with
Denner.
That section ends with names of famous composers who wrote for the
French players they knew.

Does this imply that anyone not playing a French system clarinet can not
play these works? Or can a French clarinet player not play any Brahms,
Wagner etc.?

One might ask the question: Is it the clarinet the intended
professor is playing or the player himself that is the object of the
letter?

Things change. For instance, in old videos of the Berlin Philharmonic,
the clarinet players sit very stolid while playing their parts.
Nowadays, the videos show the clarinet players prancing all over their
chairs. Do these movements supposedly enhance their playing?

The issue, to me, is a tempest in a teapot.
