Hello Dave

Looked at the Northbranch site for your cd. Looks great fun to me, but as
living outside the USA I cannot order it via internet. Will have to make a
telephone call Monday.

What struck me were the dates of Mr Cahuzac: I once had the pleasure to hear
him, probably in Le Mans, but possibly in Paris. When he died I cannot have
been older than 17 years, I was born 1943, but I still remember him playing
Weber's first concerto. At that time I still had the idea that, if I ever
would have a chance to learn an instrument, it would be oboe, but his
performance raised the first doubts whether not clarinet would be a better
choice. (It must have been at least ten years later, when I heard Weber's
concertino on radio DDR, that I decided to learn the clarinet, because of
the few slow bars (piú lento) around bar 130, that Tony Pay denies to exist,
I had a discussion abnout it with him on this list).

Wish you much success with the sales numbers of your cd. They will by
definition not run up into the millions, I guess, there is no propaganda
circus around it like with the Spice Girls, and I think its buyers will
mainly be clarinettists that have a great affinity with all aspects of
playing. But nonetheless I am happy this kind of cd's does appear. Just as I
am happy with say the Cappricces by Paganini or the solo violin sonatas by
Vieuxtemps. Music, that is too litle known, often known only to and
appreciated by too small an incrowd.
