Hello David,

very interesting news. IMHO the letters are written in a bit exaggerated
style to get through the bureaucracy (which, as you know, was invented by
us germans ;-) ).
I do not see the german system dying, but another point that was between
the lines: A musician who wants to be a professional in a german orchestra
will have lots of difficulties if he does not play as it is usual (the
same holds eg. for string bass where there are different ways to hold the
bow). Apart from the causes for this situation, IMO it is not a good idea
to teach french system when the result can be unemployment of talented
players which possibly did not know the situation. It is hard enough to
find a job as a musician.

I wonder if it is impossible for a french system player to teach german
system?

It would be nice if you keep us informed about further reactions to these
letters!
