Dear List,

A few weeks ago, one of our members offered to give a copy of his
performance CD (with piano accompaniment) to anyone who requested it. I
immediately jumped in and asked for a copy, and (to put it mildly) I was
not disappointed in what I received. Rather, I was so impressed at what
I heard that I ran out and purchased some of the music I did not already
have. Now, I am not a professional musician, and cannot, therefore,
comment at that level. IMHO, however, this list member deserves to be
heard by a wide audience -- especially by you, the list members.

The name of this performing artist is Martin Powell, and he lives in
England. He already has some recognition in several countries in
Europe, and, again, IMHO I think that he deserves to be heard
internationally. The 'jewel box' notes contain an impresssive bio of
Martin and a description of each piece. Here is a rundown of the
pieces on his CD:

Claude Debussy Premiere Rhapsodie
Andre Messager Solo de Concours
Francis Poulenc Clarinet Sonata
Camille Saint-Saens Clarinet Sonata No. 2, Op.
167
Igor Stravinsky Three Pieces
Wilfred Josephs Clarinet Sonata No. 2,
Op. 149
Alamiro Giampieri Carnevale di Venezia
Rimsky-Korsakov The Flight of the Bumblebee

All it takes to receive the CD is to send an email to
<POWELLM397@-----. Include your name and address, and very shortly
you will have your very own copy. Remember: the CD is free!

Thanks to all the list members.

John O'Neill
