Who mentioned <censorship>? Certainly not me! Who suggested that I am a
supporter of censorship? Please <do> use a certain amount of intelligence to
see that a simple mistake has been made in my phrasing. I`m from U.K. and
"the British Board of Film Censorship" has now long been superseded by "The
Film Standards Authority". I do apologise for that mis-titling. That must be
seen clearly as not being <my> department. Nor was it ever. I did not give
any indication that I supported this organisation, or this kind of dictate.
However, there isn`t really any doubt that it probably does the same job.
The U.S. has <it`s> own standards authority. What is that, other than
censorship? Come on now. No one has criticised governments for the health
warning on cigarettes. This very day an American tobacco company advised a
European government that if it continued to import and sell it`s product,
and at the same time allow it`s cancer victims to die, then this
government`s end of year balance account would stay in the black.

What is the difference between the so called "Arts" and "Industry". None as
far as I am concerned when we have unacceptable standards from both sources.
The time is very fast approaching when we, and the music companies need much
stronger guidance, possibly from an outside independent or government
agency, as this time, as opposed to the days when some of you say that some
music was unacceptable years ago, (I have to disagree with those
statements), children are being drawn into this slow decline of moral
standards. It is the children who ARE the pop music buying public these
days, whereas in days gone by it wasn`t - it was a slightly older set,
already quite well versed in the art of "fooling around".

Some say that parents do the policing. Some do, I agree, but I`ll wager that
the majority do <not> listen to their children`s pop purchases first of all,
before they allow them to take it up to their room.

I have not come across one argument that holds water in this debate. The
facts are there to be seen in the deluge of POP PORN.

Best,

Tony W.
