A while back someone was asking for some thoughts on Marcellus and his
teaching. I would like to relate something important he told me that I think
can only benefit those to take it to heart. I can't put it into his words but
I can paraphrase it to relate the way I understand it. He first tried to
relay this when I was very young and met him during one of his trips up to
Interlochen to conduct.

Basically. . .

If you want to see regular improvements in your playing every few months,
practice an extra hour of Baermann III every day.

He was right. Thanks RM.
