Annie,

DO NOT QUIT.

You`ll think back in 5 years time saying to yourself, "I wish I had not
quit". I know from experience that I cannot put out of my mind two occasions
when I chickened out of projects, which I know now I could have handled.

Could you not have some redress on Allan Blackwell, and maybe get him to
re-record you at no additional cost to you? Your tone sounds most elegant
on the recordings you sent me, so would it also be a good idea to think
about what reeds you used on those previous occasions. If you are new to
Mozart reeds, is this also perhaps causing some difficulty, especially under
studio conditions?

I`m sure tho` that you`ve got the guts to see this thru`. I wanna hear you
play my movement, or I`ll get so crabby you won`t ever want to tune in to my
e-mails ever again> :<( :<)

Chin up, stand correctly, I said do NOT tap your feet, not <before> or
<after> you have started. Now good breathing, - breath in slowly, and
deeply, and moving fingers evenly, produce your first tone. NO, not like
that, like this _______________________Pure, sweet, liquid, velvet, satin,
no vibrato, - I SAID NO VIBRATO. Yes, it`s coming, it`s coming. EUREKA,
she`s got it - yes she`s got it. By George she`s got it!!

The Jane near Maine is indeed not quite so vain.
Elaine on the wane, can finally handle the chicane.
Champagne and cocaine don`t mix well with chow mein.
To abstain or refrain, will cause klarinet disdain.

"I recorded at Get Reel Productions, owned by Allan Blackwell, located at
the top ot Moreno off 8th street in the same building with a local TV
station. (I forget which one) Allan has always done great work for me on
all my demos. He had a big mic sort of near the bell. I told him that I
prefered to have a mic more in the vicinity of the tone holes. I never
like to perform with my bell near the mic. I just don't like the tone.
He says that it's hard to get a good clarinet tone in the studio. I am
so disappointed that I am thinking of quitting the contest. I hope our
next session goes better". ANNIE
