Airport named for Louis Armstrong
New Orleans hails a native son on eve of his 100th birthday
NEW ORLEANS, July 13 — Air travelers to New
Orleans will now land at the newly renamed
Louis Armstrong International Airport, believed
to be the first major airport in the United States
named after an black musician, authorities said.
One wonders if there are any major airports named after an (sic) musician,
period.
