Subj: [kl] college audition pieces
Date: Wed, 11 Jul 2001 04:57:49 -0400

Hey all,
Well I'm new to this list. My name is Laura and I'm entering my senior
year of high school not at all as I had hoped it would turn out). I've
played bass clarinet for 6 years and just restarted clarinet in lessons 2
years ago.
Well the reason why I say that senior year is not turning out the way I
hoped was that I wasn't given a chance to be drum major like I hoped for and
I wasn't elected onto our board for the music dept. when I consider myself
very dedicated when some others who were elected only complain. Can someone
explain this to me?
Well the main question is that I need some ideas of what pieces to play
on my bass clarinet for my college auditions. I already have my clarinet
music Saint-Saens Sonate mvt1 and 2. So if anyone has any suggestions please
let me know.
Also, I'm planing on getting an arched neck on my bass and a new
mouthpiece. Does an arched neck really help a lot? Also the mouthpiece I'm
interested in is the selmer c*. Now I noticed that there's a C**. What's the
difference and is the C* a good mouthpiece?
Thanks,
Laura
